Thank God it's spring! You know how the beautiful flower buds started to bloom after the chill winter. They're really a delight in the eyes. For all of us that have been in this pandemic, it's a breather to feel the sunshine again and go out without wearing those wool jackets and stuff especially the slippery slopes that you have to subdue during the snow — springtime! You have to stay active again outside, not just for your physical health but also for your psyche. Since it's spring, you also have to prepare your family to flip the house and do some spring cleaning activities. So, we prepared some cleaning tips to sanitize your homes, say goodbye to the germs and welcome the spring with open arms.
1 - Have your spring cleaning checklist prepared ahead of time.
It's just similar to doing your grocery. It's important to write down all the activities that you will do so everyone will know their equal responsibilities during the cleaning. If you haven't prepared for one, why not spend the entire day brainstorming with your family and allow them to participate in what they want to share in the cleaning process by getting everyone involved!
2- Do the general cleaning in the span of one week.
Other alternatives would be doing it on weekends. However, cleaning doesn't have to be rush. It's an opportunity to teach your kids how to clean the house and the importance of keeping the house tidy, clean, and organized. On the first day, pick an easy task like flipping the bed and changing their bed linens. That way, your kids will know how important it is to organize their bedrooms from the moment they wake up. As the day passed, gradually increase the level of the task but make it fun and enjoyable.
3- Introduce them to non-hazardous cleaning tools and products.
Your kids don't necessarily have to memorize all the cleaning tools and products. Teach them the importance of getting rid of germs using those products. Teach them the easy cleaning tools and safe products that are present in your household. It includes the broom, dust wiper, trash bags, cleaning cloth, child-friendly garden tools. The portable vacuum, glass cleaner, and your trusted brand of the portable atomizer spray that even your kids will love to use for sanitization.
4- Get the family out in the backyard.
Spring cleaning doesn't only have to be indoors. Why not spend the weekend letting your kids pick up the dried leaves and branches in your porch or backyard? Let them collect the litter while your husband does the mowing. You can also try waking everyone up early in the morning and get some seedlings to plant on your lawn. Morning spring sunshine is healthy for your bones and skin.
5- Teach your kids how to organize the kitchen.
Cooking and cleaning go side by side. There is much fresh seasonal produce in the spring. Have your kids prep their favorite spring snack or dessert and teach them how to clean the kitchen afterward. The kitchen is the most important room in your house because it's the place where everyone gathers and where day-to-day activities happen. This is where your kids also learn how to socialize with others at an early age and learn the importance of family ties.
