The story behind airDefender®
airDefender® aims to protect every individual, home, business, and the world from the threats of infectious diseases with a series of convenient and effective products. Our goal is to improve the health of our communities with our groundbreaking technology, while never compromising on quality and ease.
Advanced Hygiene Solution
airDefender® was born in the aftermath of the 2003 SARS outbreak in Hong Kong by the founder, Albert Wong. The company aims to provide higher quality hygienic solutions through its advanced coating technology. The research team began to explore the benefits of photocatalysis and worked to make its coating technology more advanced, so that they could attack pathogens more effectively. Our scientists learned from their experiments and tests, and created a solution for cleaning and sanitizing that is efficient, sustainable and simple to use.
NASA Ranked Green Innovation
In 2013, airDefender® had a breakthrough and developed a TiO2 Photocatalyst in a Q-dot size − a size beyond the Nano definition. This smaller size allowed it to attach to pathogens more effectively, which drastically improved performance and enhanced the cleaning systems. airDefender® began using this technology in commercial applications for sanitizing homes, offices, public transportations and buildings. Through our range of products, that innovation is now available to everyone wanting to create clean, healthy, and sanitized environments.
As a part of providing healthcare innovations, airDefender®'s quantum technology, which uses the Visible Light Responsive (VLR) catalyst, was ranked by NASA research team as Top 3 best samples submitted in 2014.
Natural Germ Block for the New Era
In 2017, airDefender® brought this technology to people by developing a longer-lasting product that could be used daily for head-to-toe protection against pathogens and odors. A natural germ-free long-lasting solution for the next generations to come.
In 2020, airDefender® was announced the winner of Hong Kong Emerging Brand for its technology and participation in the innovative world.

Did you know that your nose protects you through smell? You will wonder how this tiny organ that is located at the center of your face could protect you and your health. The answer lies in the nerve cells that detect odors at the tip of your nostrils.
Alcohol hand sanitizers are the leading standard when it comes to avoiding the transmission of germs through hand and surface contact. However, while it's efficient in killing pathogens and alike, alcohol has a major flaw which makes it also its greatest weakness compared to its non-alcohol contender.
The word "liberty" carries a lot of weight. For some, it entails self-sufficiency. Others see it as the ability to act and talk freely, as well as the freedom to go wherever they want. As we celebrate the 244 years of independence, let's remind ourselves and honor the fallen heroes that fought for this liberty that we are enjoying today.
It has been over a year since the global outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. We are now facing a new strain surge where transmissions are more dominant than ever. The difference from last year is that the virus strains have become more transmissible in some parts of the world, vaccines are being developed, and we have become more adept at implementing and adhering to safety protocols, including our own.
