Regulatory Considerations for North America
There are strict regulatory requirements in North America for products that hope to make antiviral or antibacterial health claims. In the US, these claims require the product to be registered with either the US EPA or US FDA respectively on top of presenting clear and obvious proof of actual antiviral/antibacterial efficacy.
For the US market, Quantum Antimicrobial Technology may only be incorporated into products that are or will be registered with the US EPA and FDA. Contact your airDefender representative to learn more about how QAT can work with your product.
Regulatory Considerations for Europe
There are strict regulatory requirements in Europe for products that hope to make antiviral or antibacterial health claims. In general, this requires registration or authorization of the product itself as a pesticidal/biocidal device or product on top of presenting clear and obvious proof of actual antiviral/antibacterial efficacy, but this needs to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
If registration or authorization is required, this could be a multi-year investment that is resource-intensive. There can be alternative routes that do not require this approach. Contact your airDefender representative for further information.
